Documentation
Installation, configuration, feature, and contribution guides for LibreChat.
Just want to start chatting?
Try LibreChat right now on the project's free public demo at chat.librechat.ai: create an account there and start a conversation. The demo is for evaluation only, so it is not the place for private data or anything you need to keep (terms, privacy).
For an instance of your own, install LibreChat with the Quick Start (about five minutes with Docker), then follow Your First Chat to create your account, add a model API key, and send your first message.
Looking for a desktop installer?
LibreChat is a self-hosted web application, not a native Windows, macOS, or Linux desktop app. On Windows, use Docker Desktop for the simplest local setup. On macOS, also use Docker Desktop; on Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs, read the Apple Silicon MongoDB note in the Docker guide prerequisites before starting. For Linux desktops or servers, use Docker, npm, or a remote hosting guide.
